How to travel with a suit
Steps to keep your work attire crinkle-free and meeting-ready
When packing, it’s important to secure clothing so that it stays in place. When items are able to shift around, the likelihood of a creased suit increases.
Remember, some fabrics will crease more easily than others. Heavier weight fabrics crease far less easily than lighter weight ones.
6 steps to crease-free suits
1 Button up your jacket and spread it facedown on a flat surface.
2 Fold the first shoulder.
Fold the first third of the jacket towards the centre. The fold should start where the shoulder meets with the neck. Smooth creases so that the jacket lies flat.
3 Bring down the arm.
Flatten the sleeve so that it falls naturally, following the edge of the jacket. Smooth any creases.
4 Fold the second shoulder.
Repeat this folding process for the other side.
5 Place your trousers at the top of the jacket.
Place trousers, folded in quarters, at the top of the jacket. This will keep the jacket from getting wrinkled.
6 Fold up the remaining section of the jacket.
Fold up the lower half of the jacket to cover the trousers.
