Etihad Airways has chosen London Heathrow as the debut route for its Airbus A380 superjumbo, fitted with a three-room suite called The Residence.
So why should passengers book tickets for the new service, which starts in December? Here are 10 reasons to visit the capital city of England…
Top attractions: See the city from the London Eye; meet a celebrity at Madame Tussauds; examine some of the world’s most precious treasures at the British Museum or come face-to-face with the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.
West End theatre: London has arguably the best theatre scene in the world and attracts some of the biggest names in showbiz to its stages. Take your pick from musicals, classic plays, or new works making their West End debut.
Iconic skyline: The most recent addition is the Shard building so make sure you take in a panoramic view of London from up high at some point during your stay.
Shopping heaven: From the flagship stores on Oxford Street to London’s markets. You can shop in Europe’s largest urban shopping centre at Westfield Stratford, or visit an iconic department store such as Harrods.
Green spaces: The city is home to eight beautiful Royal Parks, including Hyde Park, St James’s Park and Richmond Park. There’s also Hampstead Heath in North London, with amazing views over the city.

Etihad Airways currently operates three flights daily to London Heathrow from its Abu Dhabi hub.
The airline’s first A380 will operate commercially to London Heathrow from December 2014. A second A380 will operate on the same route from Q1 2015.
